MEET THE ARTISTS:


MARK MASSON, a seasoned musician, guitarist, performer, and songwriter from Ventura County, boasts two decades of experience in the music industry. With a dynamic blend of jamband, bluegrass, reggae, and funk, Mark crafts unforgettable performances that leave audiences spellbound. For the past decade, he has led and founded his bands Mark Masson & Jam Grass and Shaky Feelin’, pushing musical boundaries and setting the stage on fire wherever he plays.

BEAU RED, a modern-western sensation, infuses nostalgia with a post-modern edge. Hailing from Ojai, their music reflects their rich upbringing and diverse influences. With notable performances alongside Juliette Lewis and the Licks, as well as Aj Lee & Blue Summit, Beau Red has made waves in the music scene. Rooted in bluegrass, their journey includes extensive tours across California, hitting renowned festivals like the Grass Valley Bluegrass Festival and Lucidity. Known for captivating performances, Beau Red is redefining contemporary music with their electrifying style.

 

THE VAN ALLEN TWINS:


KELLEN VAN ALLEN is an original singer-songwriter known for his captivating blend of country/folk, often described as “progressive mountain music.” His songs are distinguished by their commanding beauty, delivered with a uniquely charming and powerful style that stirs the soul.

DRÉA VAN ALLEN, an internationally recognized harmonicist hailing from Ventura and now based in Ojai, is a force to be reckoned with in the world of folk blues. Her one-woman-band performances, reminiscent of a female Neil Young, showcase her exceptional talent and raw passion. Dréa’s accolades include reaching the final round of the International Blues Competition in 2018 and gracing the cover of Harmonica World magazine in 2021. Endorsed by Lone Wolf Blues Company, she has been captivating live audiences since 2012, drawing inspiration from her service in the US Air Force and her extensive experience in harmonica, songwriting, and guitar playing. Together with her brother, she forms The Van Allen Twins, a bluegrass trio/band that enriches the American Roots Music scene with their original compositions and covers.

JAY PONTI is a guitarist and singer known for his versatility spanning blues, country, and hard rock’n’roll genres. Influenced by legends like Muddy Waters, Jimmy Page, and Jerry Garcia, he has graced stages alongside icons such as Slash, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Jerry Cantrell, and has contributed his vocals to bands like the Dead Kennedys. Additionally, Jay has been a member of bands like Angry Johnny and the Killbillies, The Holics, and the Ooks of Hazzard. Beyond music, Jay is a dedicated grassroots political organizer, playing pivotal roles in movements like Occupy Wall Street and Standing Rock. He’s the co-creator of the #BankExit fossil fuel divestment campaign, author of “Be the Revolution,” and provides free leadership trainings for frontline youth activists.

For “Palomino Nights,” we’re going all-in on the country theme with a BBQ food pop-up featuring Big Mann BBQ. They’ll be serving up delicious barbecue favorites from 5 p.m. through intermission.
