MEET THE ARTISTS:

G.C. CAMERON joined The Spinners in 1967 and was lead singer for their first big hit, 1970’s “It’s a Shame,” co-written and produced by Stevie Wonder. G.C. is also known for his rendition of “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” which was featured on the soundtrack of the 1975 movie “Coolie High” and subsequently remade by Boyz II Men in the early 90s. After many years with The Spinners, G.C. became the lead singer of The Temptations in 2003, and in 2004, his first project with The Temptations was the album “Legacy,” which ranked Number 18 on Billboard’s Top R & B chart. January 2006 saw the release of The Temptations’ album “Reflections,” which climbed to Number 14 on the R & B charts. The Temptations, with G.C. as the lead singer, was nominated in 2007 for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards for their remake of “How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You.” Before joining Forever Motown as its featured singer, G.C. was on tour with Sony promoting the PBS Special “Love Train, a Tribute to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff: The Sounds of Philadelphia,” in which G.C. starred along with the OJ’s and Jerry Butler, Bunny Sigler, and others. G.C. and The Spinners were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
