HAPPILY EVER AFTER(ISH): Andrew Samonsky and Kate Reinders in a Valentine’s Day Concert

Sponsored by Fran Elson in Honor of Ed Elson

They met serendipitously at Rubicon. They had a fairytale romance in New York. They donned mouse ears and married at Disney World. Now Broadway power couple Andrew Samonsky and Kate Reinders return to Ventura on Valentine’s Day to share their love story through the songs of Disney. You’ll hear hits from films such as “Monsters, Inc.,”“Hercules,” and “Cinderella”; and swoon to tunes from stage shows including Frozen, The Lion King and Peter Pan. Andrew, a Ventura native, has starred at Rubicon in tick…tick…BOOM!, Little Miss Scrooge and Merrily We Roll Along (also starring Kate). His multiple Broadway credits include Lt. Cable on Broadway and on PBS in South Pacific. Kate’s many Broadway shows include the original cast of Something Rotten and Wicked, and she currently plays Miss Jenn in the Disney TV show “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”

Sponsors and their Guests are invited to 6:15 p.m. Champagne and Silent Auction, Concert, Post-Show Reception with Andrew and Kate, and a Dessert Buffet with Chocolate Fountain, Port and Espresso.

HOME AGAIN: Noel Paul Stookey in Concert

Rubicon is honored to welcome returning artistic legend and five-time Grammy Award-winner Noel Paul Stookey (Paul of Peter, Paul and Mary) to his West Coast “home” for a one-night-only event of story and song. He’ll bring his intimate musicality to the Rubicon stage with some perennial favorites from the PP&M song list plus Stookey standards such as “The Wedding Song,” “In These Times,” and “Jean Claude” and some of the latest tunes from his most recent release “Fazz: Now and Then.” Funny, irreverently reverent, thoughtful, compassionately passionate, Noel has previously sold out concerts at Rubicon, writing songs for our shows and co-curating the successful Music for Changing Times Festival. His soulful gifts as an activist/singer/songwriter continue to thrill audiences and inspire a new generation of socially conscious artists.
