Join Heather Youmans (from Dark of the Moon at Rubicon) and special musical guests on Mother’s Day weekend as they celebrate the hit songs and stories of iconic women in music from the 1960s and 70s, including Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Olivia Newton-John, Stevie Nicks, Karen Carpenter, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Linda Rondstadt, and more! Journey through the “golden age of popular music” — from Laurel Canyon folk songs and Woodstock rock anthems to the rise of disco and protest songs that empowered a generation. This evening of nostalgic storytelling is led by Heather Youmans and features an all-star band and guest singers seen on TV, in movies, at Rubicon and on stages around the world. 

Meet the Artists


HEATHER YOUMANS (Performer) is an actor, singer-songwriter, tap dancer and instrumentalist. In 2023, she originated the role of Katie Summey in Rubicon’s Dark of theMoon helmed by James O’Neil with choreography by Chris Gattelli and looks forward to creating the role of Natalie in Rubicon’s upcoming reading of a new musical by Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser, Somebody to Love. As a session singer, Heather has sung background vocals for Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Brandy, Rita Ora and members of Earth Wind and Fire, and her voice can be heard on network TV shows and in movies for FOX, NBC, Disney, Hulu, Apple and Netflix. She was the opening soloist for a UNICEF event featuring Sting and the late Natalie Cole. In recent years, Heather has toured as a principal singer for Disney Concerts; performed on FOX’s hit singing show “I Can See Your Voice”; honored the legendary Linda Ronstadt and Dionne Warwick at special events in Los Angeles (L.A.); and continues her work in theatre, originating roles in new, contemporary musicals. Heather’s a member of the award-winning musical comedy group The Troubies in LA and has worked at theatres such McCoy Rigby, Lawrence Welk Resort, Moonlight Amphitheatre, West Coast Ensemble and more since she was 10-years-old. Heather frequently sings the national anthem solo in stadiums and arenas, including L.A.’s Dodger Stadium and Staples Center/Crypto.com Arena for the NBA, and NHL. DAN FISHBACH (Director) has been a theatre director, producer and teacher for 25 years. Recent directing credits include Crazy for You and Noises Off! (Oklahoma City), Side by Side by Sondheim and Jacques Brel… (Odyssey Theatre), Assassins (Pico Playhouse/Broadway World Award nom.), the international tour of One Night Stand: An Improvised Musical for producer Marc Platt (Wicked); Steven Dietz’s Private Eyes; Nicky Silver’s The Maiden’s Prayer (The Raven Theatre); and the World Premiere of Anthony Mora’s play Silencing Silas. Other credits include HAIR (collaboration with original author James Rado,) The 25th Annual Putnam Co. Spelling Bee, Chicago, Company and Spring Awakening. Dan was a professor of Directing & Musical Theatre at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts for 10 years, and also taught at Oklahoma City University, Cal Poly Pomona, Santa Monica College and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He served as Head of Performing Arts at Harvard-Westlake School for six years, and was the Director of The Groundlings Theatre and School from 2006-2008. Dan is the co-founder and co-director of The Los Angeles Musical Theatre Studio, a training ground for professional actors. His students have been seen on and off Broadway, in regional theatre, and on film and television. BRENDAN COYLE (Music Director) is a multi-instrumentalist working in L.A. He has performed as a session musician and arranged for TV/Film and video games, in addition to playing for musicals, corporate bands, churches, theme park,s and more. Brendan is currently Musical Director at St. Ambrose in West Hollywood, and recently served as Musical Director for Velocity at Six Flags Magic Mountain.  

RAINEE BLAKE (Special Guest Performer) is an Australian born singer-songwriter whose music combines 1970’s melodies with a modern R&B feel (think Carole King meets Lake Street Dive). She has performed all over the world from the iconic Grand Ole Opry to the Australian National Folk Festival, The Bluebird, Hotel Cafe, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Soho Playhouse (NYC). Rainee is also the creator and star of the multi-award winning one-woman show Joni Mitchell: Take Me as I Am. Rainee has released several EP’s and singles, including “Alone,” “One More Night,” and Closer,” which has over 240K Spotify streams and is featured on the Retro Soul editorial playlist. She starred as Alannah on the TV series “Nashville” and as Rita Coolidge in “I am DB Cooper,” for which she also wrote the soundtrack. THERESE CURATOLO (Special Guest Performer) is a singer-songwriter, globally acclaimed, L.A.-based vocalist who lights up any room with her effervescent energy, charisma and retro vibe. Therese is known for her honest approach to songwriting, and her music has been described as retro-Americana reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and John Mayer. She has lent her voice to established groups such as Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, Scary Pockets and Cirque du Soleil, touring worldwide and amassing over 5 million Spotify streams and 17 million views on YouTube. Fans of Therese’s work have called her “a powerhouse” and a “vocal chameleon.” She As an artist-on-the-rise, she has sung alongside soul legends Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves and worked with notable artists including David Ryan Harris, Darren Criss, Lawrence & Niall Horan. Her versatile vocal power has taken her from the Metropolitan Opera to the big screen and iconic venues like The Hollywood Bowl. MALYNDA HALE (Special Guest Performer) is a singer-songwriter, actor, and activist originally from Santa Barbara, California. She won “Best Female Vocalist” at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, “Best Pop Music Video” at the Indie Music Channel Awards, and “Pop Song of the Year” at The Josie Music Awards. She has been a headliner for the NAMM show; has opened for artists such as Tyrone Wells, Ernie Halter, Levi Kreis, OTOWN, and Smokey Robinson; and sung background for Melissa Manchester, Terron Brooks and Foreigner. Malynda has toured the world as a guest entertainer on cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Regent, and Celebrity; and has sung the national anthem numerous times for the Dodgers, Lakers, Galaxy, and the California Democratic National Convention. Recently, she had music featured on the CBS soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful,” as well as the Disney Channel TV show “Saturdays”; and was a featured soloist in WhyHunger’s: Drum Together version of The Beatles classic “Come Together” with Ringo Starr. As an actress, Malynda has appeared in numerous stage productions; national commercials; independent films; and the Lifetime TV Network movies “A Hunt for Truth” (alongside Willa Ford), as well as “Lust, Lies and Polygamy” (alongside Alicia Mason and Tremayne Norris). Most recently, she starred in the feature film “Bull Street” alongside Loretta Devine and Amy Madigan which made its debut at the Pan African Film Festival in February of 2024. www.malyndahale.com  

STEPHÀNIA (STÈPHANIE POURGOURI) (Special Guest Performer) is an R&B/Soul singer-songwriter based in L.A. Born to a Cypriot father and an Irish mother, Stephània was raised on the island of Cyprus and grew up listening to the sounds of Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire and Etta James. With her rich and warm tone, Stephània is best known for integrating her personal life experiences into her emotional story-telling music, creating an emotional connection between herself and her listeners. Her latest singles “Boy” and “Tell Me” made it onto one of Northern Ireland’s most notable radio stations, BBC Radio Ulster. In 2022, Stephània went on her debut North American tour performing as a feature and background vocalist on the Life & Music of George Michael, playing concert venues such as the House of Blues in Houston. Shortly after that, she graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a dual major in Vocal Performance and Contemporary Writing & Production and had the honor to perform for Lalah Hathaway at Berklee’s Commencement Concert in May, 2022, where she sang Hathaway’s hit “Baby Don’t Cry.” Stephània was also recently selected as a principal singer in the Disney 100 Concert Tour 2023-2024 in Asia.
