Once Island Final.jpg

Once On This Island Jr.

Set on a mythical island where the rich and poor inhabitants live on opposite sides and never mix. Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues and then falls in love with a wealthy boy from the opposite side. Unbeknownst to her, the gods who preside over the island, make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death, the stakes being Ti Moune's life. When Ti Moune pursues Daniel, who has returned to his people, she’s shunned because she’s a peasant. Her determination and capacity to love isn’t enough to win Daniel's heart, and Ti Moune pays the ultimate price. But the gods take pity on her when she dies, turning her into a tree that grows so strong and so tall, it breaks the wall that has separated the societies. This ultimately unites them.
