How to Submit Your Script for Consideration
Rubicon Theatre Company is committed to bringing new and innovative works to our audiences. We welcome submissions of plays and musicals from established and emerging playwrights throughout the year.
We usually produce one or two World Premieres in any given season, and seasons are typically planned 18 months in advance.
With some exceptions, we generally provide a professional Plays-in-Progress reading or workshop of a new work before committing to a fully produced premiere. Although circumstances can change, please be aware that we currently have several years of productions in development.
To submit your script for consideration, please send a hard copy to the following:
Rubicon Theatre Company
Attn: Samantha Winters, Literary Associate
1006 E. Main St.
Ventura, CA 93001
Or send an e-mail to submissions@rubicontheatre.org
Plays are initially reviewed by our Literary Associate and a volunteer committee in the order received and then forwarded to other artistic staff for consideration. We do receive a large number of submissions, so if you do not hear back from us right away, please do not consider it a reflection of our interest in you or your artistry. Further, we find that we receive many worthy scripts that may not be the right mix in any given balanced season.
Although circumstances may change, please be aware that we currently have several years of productions in development.
Thank you for your interest.
