Whether you’re new to acting, a student preparing for college or graduate school auditions, or an experienced professional wanting to brush-up your skills, this workshop is for you! Rubicon’s Producer and Casting Director Stephanie Coltrin leads a weekly 90-minute online class covering topics including audition postings – where to find them and how to submit for them; how to make the best first impression, slating and introducing yourself, preparing your resume, headshot, and vocal book; knowing whom you might meet in the room; union vs. non-union auditions; and auditioning for different genres and styles. In-between each weekly class, students will be required to memorize monologues and songs (if musical) to perform for work sessions in class. Participants will be able to ask questions of occasional guest panelists, who will including other casting directors and directors who will share “do’s and don’ts” and tell stories about their experiences. At the final class, Rubicon founders James O’Neil and Karyl Lynn Burns and other senior artistic staff will watch you perform two contrasting pieces and provide feedback.
