SUMMER PLAYWRITING WORKSHOP AT RUBICON!
June 2 to July 28, 2008
Mondays, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Tuition: $350

Things to do this summer:

*Get a tan
*Have a yard sale
*WRITE THAT PLAY

Too much UV radiation can be harmful to your health, but medical professionals agree that there is no limit on the amount of time you can safely spend writing a stageplay this summer.

Have you been meaning to explore your inner writer, but just stuck the desire in a trunk and left it there? Well, leave the old Duran Duran (or Perry Como) albums up in the attic, but dust off that writerly aspiration and express yourself!

This 8-week workshop with instructor Scott Patrick Wagner will take you though the brainstorming, structuring, and first-draft process, helping you focus and theatricalize the story you have to tell. (And if you don't think you have a story to tell, you'll get help finding one.)

The workshop will take place over nine weeks, with no meeting on the Monday following the 4th of July (think of it as a writing week, with fireworks).

Class is open to beginning writers, as well as seasoned vets . . . the only requirement is a desire to write and a commitment to the process. Group work and individualized script consultation with Scott will help you advance your craft, whether starting a play from scratch or taking a project to the next level.

This summer, have it all! (Just don't get suntan oil on your laptop.)
