Times for all three days are as follows:

Sign up begins at 10:00 a.m.
Morning Session: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Lunch: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Afternoon Session: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

WHAT TO PREPARE: NON-Musicals Auditions: Two contrasting monologues; Musical Auditions: Two contrasting short songs of any style that best show off your vocal ability and personality. All sheet music should be in correct key and cuts should be marked clearly. An accompanist will be provided for you. Please bring two headshots and resumes.

Contracts
Rubicon Theatre Company is on a Small Professional Theatre (SPT) Category 8 contract with Actors’ Equity Association. Out-of-town artists also receive Equity approved housing during their residency.

Equity Membership Candidacy Program
Rubicon offers Equity Member Candidacy (EMC) weeks for non-union actors who are interested in joining the union. For more information about this program please contact Actors’ Equity Association or visit their website at www.actorsequity.org.

Equity Principal Auditions
EPA general auditions are scheduled once each year in spring for the upcoming season. If you wish to be notified about these auditions please send us a headshot and resume with a cover letter requesting that you be added to our audition email list to Casting Department, Rubicon Theatre Company, 1006 East Main Street, Ventura, CA 93001.

Non-Union Artists
Although most of our roles are offered to union members some roles are open to non-union actors for some pay. Non-union actors may attend an EPA but will only be seen after all Union actors have been auditioned and if times permits.

Rehearsal and Performance Schedule
The duration of the contract may vary but the majority of our shows have a three and a half week rehearal process and a three and a half week performance run. Most of our productions rehearse during the day in the North Hollywood area for the first two weeks before moving up to Ventura. Performances run seven shows a week Wednesday through Sunday with dark days on Monday and Tuesday. On occasion there are 10:00 a.m. student matinee performances and 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening performances. Fees for additional performances are paid at the current AEA rule book rates.
